We are a church family that endeavours to be Christ-centred and passionate about loving God and each other while warmly welcoming all who join us, wherever each may be in his or her life journey. If you are currently looking for a church family, wanting to know more about God, or wondering why anyone goes to church, we welcome you to explore our website and then come for a visit.
Hello everyone! As we continue to follow the Chief Public Health Officer’s recommendations concerning the COVID-19 pandemic and seek to protect the most vulnerable in our society, we want to update you on how Community Baptist will be responding in the coming weeks.
Sunday Services: The Sunday Morning the Worship Service will be solely online. We will not meet in person. You will find the stream above, on our YouTube Channel or on our Public Facebook Page. We encourage you not to neglect the habit of gathering together (Hebrews 10:25). We are grateful that technology can enable us to do this in ways unheard of in years past.
Weekday Activities: All activities during the week are suspended until further notice. This includes the Wednesday Night Bible Study and Prayer Meeting. We encourage you to spend that time in personal prayer and meditation.
Office Hours: Church staff will be working from home. Phone messages and email will still be responded to on a regular basis as we seek to keep the ongoing business of the church running smoothly.
Visitation: Since the bulk of Pastor John’s visitation takes place with those who are most vulnerable to infection, he will no longer be making visits in person. Instead, Pastor John and the deacons will seek to be in touch with people through phone.
Tithes and Offerings: The expenses of the church do not change even though we are not meeting. Everyone is encouraged to continue to give weekly as they normally would. Currently, there are two ways to do this. You can mail your offering to the church at 162 Sherwood Road, Charlottetown, PE C1E 0E4. The other way is online giving. You can do so by clicking this link. This will ensure that bills and salaries continue to be paid. We are also in the process of setting up e-transfer and will update you as appropriate.
All of these adjustments are temporary, and we pray that we can return to normal operation soon. However, we do not know how long these changes will need to be implemented. You are encouraged to check in and encourage one another through phone, messaging or video chats. These are uncertain times for many. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful.” (John 14:27, CSB). Let us both rest and act in the peace that our Saviour gives through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
