Worship Ministry

Every Sunday morning at 10:45am our church family gathers for worship.  Our services usually last between an hour to an hour and 10 minutes and consist of music, prayer, giving, videos, and a practical message.  On the first Sunday of the month we observe the Lord's Supper to remember our Saviour's great sacrifice for us on the cross.

We strive for an atmosphere that is relaxed, yet reverent as we recognize the presence of Almighty God in our midst.  Although we believe that it is what's on the inside that counts, most people come dressed in business casual.  However, you will find people in anything from suits to jeans.

On Sunday evenings at 6pm, we have a more informal worship service and a chance to request your favourites during our singing time.  There is time for sharing prayer requests and encouraging each other through how we are experiencing the Lord's activity in our lives and the lives around us.  Pastor John also has a short message to encourage and equip us in our study and application of God's word.

One of the ways we worship together is through music.  Pastor John's wife Erin serves as our Worship Director and church pianist and is always looking for musically gifted people who love to serve the Lord through music.  Here are some of the ways you can be involved in the music ministry at Community:
  • playing an instrument or singing with our worship team that leads the music in our services
  • singing in the choir for our Christmas and Easter cantatas (weekly choir practices are open to all youth and adults and run from late September to Easter)
  • participating in special music (occasionally we have solos, duets, or small ensembles sing during our worship services)
